Forest Capital Partners believes that forest research
and technology represent some of the most attractive
investments we can make. As such, we devote substantial
resources toward better tree growth - using modern
methods that often double or triple inherent forest
productivity.
Forest ownership is highly fragmented - often characterized
by small, resource-limited landowners who are greatly
disparate in the adoption of technology. Forest Capital
Partners takes large, concentrated positions in order
to leverage technology and research advantages to
create measurable operating efficiencies.
Complex, stand-level computer analyses provide our
foresters with the information they need to make the
best decisions possible for every acre we operate.
This includes algorithms for the projection of tree
growth, an optimization routine that takes into account
both timber-and non-timber resources for each parcel,
sophisticated inventory-management, and harvest scheduling
routines that coordinate millions of datapoints and
balance dozens of prioritized considerations.
These same systems allow us to better serve our mill
customers. As mills shift their production in response
to changing end-use markets, our stand-level databases
allow us to instantly assess timber inventory to locate
desired species and products. This allows Forest Capital
Partners and our customers to be uniquely responsive
to market demand - capturing shared opportunity and
rewards.
Our systems are essential to managing our wildlife
and water resources, allowing us to remain responsible
stewards of the environment. Our mapping software
delineates mountain slopes, riparian management zones
and wildlife corridors, facilitating regulatory compliance
and additional company policies that exceed legal
standards.
